This brand-new unique café combines a single service coffee beverage café and with a cat lounge where patrons can visit with cats whiling drinking their favorite beverage. The new local St Augustine cat café will offer a variety of Bold Bean coffee beverages, bakery items and offer a cat experience where guests can meet, visit and adopt homeless cats and kittens. We serve the best coffee and have a beautiful minimalistic space that is oh so luxe with our furry friends, Nordic styles, comfy velvet furniture, furry pillows, floor futons and coffee tables.

Positions Available
As St Augustine’s premier cat cafe, our business serves as both a craft coffee shop and a foster home for adoptable cats. Each of these cats has been rescued from resource challenged shelters and is in need of a second chance at a loving home for the rest of their lives. We provide space for our community to gather and connect while enjoying hand-crafted beverages and pastries, plus friendly pets and snuggles from our adoptable kitties. Our goal is to foster and facilitate adoptions for 500 cats in our first year of business!
Cafe and Lounge Attendant Volunteer
At Frisky Cat Café, our lounge attendants greet our customers and deliver drinks and pastries to our guests. We are looking for cat and animal lover who will educate our customers about our mission to save cats and help make sure our guests have the best coffee ever and have the time of their lives while visiting. You will be the welcome wagon and social king or queen of the cat lounge. We want you to love the mission we stand for as much our guests love petting cats. We would love someone with an open schedule and lots of availability, willing to work weekends and holidays. Having good people skills, enjoy meeting new people and have a polite positive attitude is a must. Having a great knowledge and passion for cats and coffee would be ideal.
Responsible reliable volunteers needed to make sure the kitties are happy and are being treated appropriately by our guests. Must be over 18 with reliable transportation to apply.
Clean and Feed Volunteer
Feed cats and clean at the Frisky Cat Café. As little as one shift per week can help feed a lot of little mouths and only takes around 90 minutes. Duties typically consist of feeding, litter box scooping, fresh water refills, medicating when applicable, and other light cleaning (sweeping/mopping/wiping down surfaces). Sporadic ‘deep cleans’ are required since over time a lot of paws can track a lot of dirt, even though they’re all indoors. Share a shift with a friend or family member- everyone is welcome. Your first few shifts will shadow a veteran so you can learn our tips & tricks.
Socialize cats at the Frisky Cat Café. Some of our cats are shy or scared after being abandoned (who wouldn’t be?). The more social they are, the faster they can be adopted. Since everyone is already fed, volunteers must be prepared for a lot of head butts & demands for snacks. Light duties such as belly rubs and cuddling are typically required.
Transportation Volunteer
One of our biggest challenges in getting cat and kittens transported from an emergency situations to the rescue for medical care. Bottle babies need to be urgenty delivered from the shelter to the loving arms of our clinic or foster. Other times, we need to get a kitty who may have developed a medical condition and needs a trip to the veterinarian. Transportation is one of critical needs. Sometimes it is urgent and other times we can anticipate transportation needs,
Foster Volunteer
Become a Foster Volunteer with Small Lives Matter Kitten Rescue and join our dedicated network of volunteers committed to caring for underage kittens in need of lifesaving rescue. As a foster caretaker, you provide a safe haven for these kittens until they are healthy, thriving, and ready for adoption. All they need is food, a warm bed and love. Open your home to these cuddly bundles of joy for a temporary stay, allowing them to thrive as they await their forever families. Fostered kittens are saved from the harsh realities of death in shelters and learn to socialize in a nurturing family environment, which eases their transition into new homes.

Cat Café Associate - NOW HIRING!
We are a mission-based nonprofit cat café where every purchase directly supports animal rescue and welfare. We operate at a high standard clean, organized, and intentionally designed with one core principle: the cats always come first. Our environment is calm, upscale, and purpose driven, and we hold our team to that same level of excellence.
This is not a typical café role. We’re seeking a professional, compassionate individual who is passionate about animal welfare and excited to be part of a purpose-driven organization. We are looking for a proactive, high-performing individual who takes ownership, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is deeply aligned with our mission. We can teach barista skills but we cannot teach work ethic, initiative, or genuine care for animals.
If you naturally step up, look for ways to improve systems, and take pride in doing things the right way (not the easy way), you will excel here.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a polished, professional, and welcoming customer experience
- Prepare and serve beverages with consistency and attention to detail (training provided)
- Uphold exceptional cleanliness and organization standards at all times
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and care of all cats at all times without making customer uncomfortable
- Confidently communicate our mission, educate guests on adoption, and facilitate meet-and-greets to evaluate potential adopter while documenting outcomes and assessing strong matches between cats and individuals
- Create and post high-quality, engaging social media content aligned with our brand
- Take initiative to identify gaps and build better processes that improve operations and strengthen our mission
- Assist in training and guiding volunteers on proper cleaning procedures and feeding routines within cat and kitten lounge areas.
Our workflow is unpredictable—some shifts are fast-paced and demanding, others are quiet and task-driven. High performers use slower periods productively and take ownership of the space by: Deep cleaning, mopping, and maintaining organization. Preparing and resetting cat condo spaces to our standards. Organizing, restocking, and completing daily upkeep. Handling small repairs from normal cat wear-and-tear
